Sam Hall is a Kent based composer, musical director/supervisor, arranger/orchestrator and musician currently touring with the hit musical 'Everybody's Talking about Jamie' on Guitar/Keys 2 and as Cover Conductor. 

Sam graduated with a first from the Royal College of Music in 2017, where he studied composition with prolific composer Mark Anthony Turnage. In his final year of studying he began working on School of Rock the Musical at the New London Theatre as Children's MD and Rock Coach.

Sam then went on to work in Andrew Lloyd Webber's music department, working as an assistant orchestrator and copyist, as well as a supervisor for his many shows. 


Sam has had his music performed by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Aurora Orchestra, Juice Vocal Ensemble and the National Youth Orchestra in venues including the Royal Opera House, The Lindbury Theatre, Snape Maltings, The Royal College of Music, The Science Museum, the South Bank Centre and Rochester Cathedral.

Contemporary Dance:

For the last few years Sam has been the main composer for Richard Chappell Dance.

'Silence Between Waves' - An outdoor work performed on Berry Head in Devon, arranging recorded interviews about the relation of the local people to the location. 

'Still Touch' 2018-ongoing - Royal Opera House workshop performances & national tour (choreographed by Richard Chappell, sculptures by Anna Gillespie).


'At the End we Begin' 2017-2018 - National Tour (choreographed by Richard Chappell). 


'There is a Grief' 2012 - Royal Opera House's Lindbury Theatre (choreographed by Molly Roberts, part of YDE scheme).


'Views' 2011 - Southbank Centre (choreographed by Lucy Anne Evans).

'Killer Graphics' Opera - Britten Theatre London (Libretto by Darren Rapier, directed by Bill Bankes-Jones, in association with Tête à Tête.),


'Soap Opera' Play - National Tour (starring Leslie Grantham, Graham Cole, Mishelle Gayle and many other soap stars, written and directed by Jamie Alexander Wilson).


'Peter Pan – A Rock Fantasy' Musical - written aged 13!  (Various productions including Secombe Theatre Sutton, Orchard Theatre Dartford, Hazlitt Theatre Maidstone, Bob Hope Theatre Eltham, produced by Liz Burville).


'Shane Lynch Life' - Healthy Cooking and Fitness DVD (Music for workouts and background/theme tune), 'Dan' - Short film (written and directed by Uzo Oleh) won the Shortlist Magazine 'Shorts' competition 2015, 'Sealed with a Kiss' - Short Film (produced by Tualen Pictures in 2015).

Sam plays in various bands on multiple instruments playing piano/keyboards, guitar, cello, bass, saxophones and drum kit. 

Sam recently played on the live TV recording for 'Spongebob Live on Stage' for Nickelodeon on Keys 2/Guitar 3.


He has worked as a dep on various West End shows such as Thriller Live (Guitar 2/Keys 2) and Waitress ('Cello/Guitar 2). 

Sam has performed at many festivals including the Isle of Wight, Green Man, Kendal Calling, Secret Garden Party, as well as venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, Vortex Jazz Club and Jazz Cafe POSK. Whilst at the RCM, he was lucky enough to play bass in a concert of Buddy Rich big band music with Dave Weckl and Jojo Mayer. 

He has also played in various function bands at St James' Palace, Atheneum Club, Royal College of Music, Royal College of art, National Gallery, National History Museum, Thames Freshers boat party and many, many more!


Sam currently plays cello and bass in experimental folk band You Are Wolf, their second album 'Keld' was released in March 2018. Listen to it here -
